Immigration
New York City is home to over 3 million immigrants, who comprise about 38% of the city’s total population. Demographic information about immigration ("foreign-born population"), citizenship, ancestry, and more can by found in the American Community Survey (ACS), see the Census Data section.
The NYC Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs supports and promotes the well-being of New York City's immigrant communities through advocacy, programs and support in accessing City services and resources.
