Most current Columbia Libraries magazine subscriptions are digital. Small collections of current print magazines can be found in the Periodicals & Microforms Reading Room (PMRR) in Butler Library and the Journalism Library in Pulitzer Hall. Issues are typically kept on the shelves for a few months and are available for in-library use only.
For finding additional physical copies, including older print or microfilm copies of magazines, see the Finding News Sources section of the guide.
Digital access to current and historical issues of many popular magazines is listed below. See the Finding News Sources tab for information on locating titles not listed here.
When subscription access to a magazine’s website is available, it is listed under the "Direct Website Access (Library Site License)" column. Publications with direct website access will not have paywalls, but you must use the link provided and log in with your UNI to get the Columbia subscription access. In many cases, these sites will include a digital archive of the print issues.
Library databases often provide access only to the print edition and may not have online-only articles, or have separate access for the Print and Online versions. When Online access is available, it is noted in the chart below. In addition, for most publications, there are many library database access points—only a selection of particularly comprehensive or useful access points are listed here, but additional access can be found by searching for the title in CLIO.
