The Bloomberg Excel Add-In is a powerful tool that delivers Bloomberg data and analytics into an Excel spreadsheet on the user’s desktop. 

To use the Excel Add-In, you must be logged into the Bloomberg terminal.  

Print

Choose print from the options at the top right of the screen. The 'Print Job Details' window will appear and you will need to enter your UNI.  This will send a screenshot of what is displaying on the screen to a PawPrint station.  You will need to take your CUID card to a PawPrint station to release the print job.  .

Download

  • Open Microsoft Excel, click on Bloomberg from the menu and choose Import Data.
     
  • For more information about how to use the Bloomberg Excel plug in enter HELP DAPI and hit the <GO> key. This will explain how to download data, create formulas, etc.
     
  • Many screens allow you to export data directly - look for an actions or output tab.

 

Email

  • To email data that you downloaded to Excel:
    • Save the file to the My Documents folder. Make sure you save it as an .xls, .csv, or .txt file.  If you save it as a Blomberg XML file - which is the default - you will not be open the spreadsheet at another computer. 
    • Type MAIL and hit the <GO> key; click on compose.  Click on add attachment and find your file.
       
  • Type GRAB  and hit the <GO> key and enter your email – the screen will come to you as an attachment
