Bloomberg Help Guide: Home

Getting started with Bloomberg

Introduction

Due to the recent developments around COVID-19, Columbia University Libraries are closed. Bloomberg terminals are not available for use, and currently Bloomberg does not provide options for remote services. If you need immediate assistance in completing assignments please contact Yasmin Saira at ys21@Columbia.edu. Please keep in mind that due to data download limitations, we CANNOT assist with bulk downloads.

Bloomberg L.P. provides financial software tools and enterprise applications such as analytics and equity trading platform, data services, and news to financial companies and organizations through the Bloomberg Terminal (via its Bloomberg Professional Service), its core revenue-generating product.[9] Bloomberg L.P. also includes a wire service (Bloomberg News), a global television network (Bloomberg Television), websites, radio stations (Bloomberg Radio), subscription-only newsletters, and two magazines: Bloomberg Businessweek and Bloomberg Markets.

There are 9 Bloomberg terminals available across the Libraries:

seven in the Watson Library
two terminals in Lehman Social Sciences Library in Lehman Library

You may create your own login by clicking on  "Create New Login" from the login page.

The Bloomberg terminal is available on a first come, first served basis. Columbia students working on assignments that require Bloomberg use have priority.
