East Asian Studies Research Guide: Finding Ebooks

Finding Ebooks

Most ebooks can be found in CLIO in the same way as print books. Do a title search, and all items with that title will show in your search result, regardless of format. If you only want to see the e-version(s) you can use the E-books limit on the left, and the search result will show only the ebooks. However, for some ebook platforms, including some that are quite important to East Asian Studies, individual records are not loaded into CLIO immediately, even while those titles are available for use. In those cases you may need to search in the platform itself. The most important ones are:

Brill Advanced Search offers access to most of their ebooks, including recent ones

Cambridge University Press has the Cambridge Core platform, which includes Cambridge books online and Cambridge Histories online

De Gruyter Ebooks includes a lot of important University Presses (including CUP!)

Oxford University Press offers Oxford Scholarship online, which also includes a lot of other scholarly presses

Use Springerlink to find Palgrave MacMillan titles

Routledge titles can be found on the Taylor & Francis platform

World Scientific also has a lot of interesting titles
