The Atlantic, founded as a monthly magazine in 1857, covers news, politics, culture, technology, health, and more. Current Columbia University students, faculty, and staff have full access to TheAtlantic.com through the Columbia University Libraries.

Log In

To log in to Columbia’s institutional subscription to TheAtlantic.com:

Visit theatlantic.com/columbiauniversity-login or click the link in The Atlantic Monthly record in the library catalog
When prompted, enter your UNI and password and complete the Duo prompt
On your first visit, the “Tell us about yourself” and newsletter signup prompts are optional; either complete or choose “Skip”

No account sign up is required. Once signed in, you will remain logged in on that device until you sign out or until your browser cache is cleared. If you are logged out, simply follow one of the links above to sign in again.

Mobile app access will be available through the group subscription in mid-July 2024. This guide will be updated with instructions once app access is available.
