Chinese Rare Books and Special Collections: Reproduction

Chinese rare books and special collections in C.V. Starr East Asian Library and other libraries

How to Reproduce?

Policy & Procedure

The policy and procedure of Columbia University Libraries concerning orders and copyright for reproduction should be followed. Detailed information can be found through links listed in the website of Preservation & Digital Conversion Division.

Particularly, Digitization and Reprographic Instructions have to be followed and necessary copyright and order forms have to be filled and submitted.

When Uncertain

Workflows, forms and personnel may experience changes over time, and interdepartmental coordination is needed for digitization, reproduction and borrowing for exhibition. And procedures may not be consistent among different departments or libraries. Furthermore, many Chinese special collections are to be processed, and finding aids are to be improved or created. But we try our best to meet the needs of researchers as much as we can.

It is always useful to check updated online information and directly ask librarians if uncertain.
