The Novel in Africa: Home

Introduction

This research guide contains citations for print and electronic resources available at Columbia University in support of a Fall 2020 course on "The Rise of the African Novel," a Spring 2020 course on "The Novel in Africa," and a Spring 2019 course on "Literature and Cultures of Struggle in South Africa." The focus of this bibliographic guide is African literature in English. With a few exceptions, all books listed here are located on campus and can be checked out ["Scan" or "Pick-up" or "Hathi Trust Temporary Access"] from the Library or consulted in the African Studies Reading Room, 607 Butler Library.
