Start with CLIO to find books and journals in Columbia University library collections.
Then try: WorldCat, the largest online public access catalog in the world, with over 100 million book and journal records. For German publishing, the Deutsche Nationalbibliografie can also be searched separately as well as the Karlsruher Virtueller Katalog. For Austrian books (and dissertations), check the OĢsterreichische Bibliographie.
For dissertations, start with Proquest Digital Dissertations. For further research, the Center for Research Libraries database and DART, the European e-these portal, should also be consulted.
