Terminology
There is no standard name for this historical event, which has variously been characterized as an "Indian" or "Sepoy Mutiny," "India's First War of Independence," the "Sepoy Rebellion," etc. A wide variety of keyword search terms are recommended for locating primary and secondary resources.
