Physics and Astronomy Research Guide: Home

A guide to physics and astronomy resources at Columbia University Libraries.

To Start

Hello! Welcome to the Research Guide for Physics & Astronomy. This guide will help you access materials through Columbia Libraries and beyond.

Looking for books? Use CLIO, the libraries' primary search interface to find: books, databases, ebooks, journals, newspapers, and DVDs.

Looking for articles? Go to the "Find Articles" tab of this guide.

Find Books & Reference Materials

  • CLIO - search the Columbia Libraries' primary catalog. Includes materials from Barnard & ReCAP partners.
  • Course Reserves - find your course books here.
  • CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics - the classic reference source, with thousands of pages about fundamental chemical and physical properties of matter.
  • CRC PHYSICSnetBASE - from astrophysics and quantum physics to materials science and optoelectronics, this unified e-library covers fundamental theories and contemporary investigations of time, matter, and space. It includes many volumes from the world-renowned Institute of Physics. (Ignore the 'Request Trial for Collection' banner, and click the 'Content I Have Access To' checkbox on the left side)

Find Materials We Don't Own
